Spoiled again... STUPID ONTD

*sigh* (^&*)^J#@HL ONTD. I do like that I get bunches of entertainment info there, but DAMN, they piss me off like yo because of the insistence of so many members posting episode stills FOR EPISODES UNAIRED outside the freaking cut! So just as I was spoiled for a D/E still from episode 6 and 7, I was just spoiled for a Damon still for episode 8. I don't know how significant 6 is, but 7 and 8 (especially) are pretty dang spoilery. UGH! I'm trying so hard to remain unspoiled, and mostly doing a pretty good job. I sent an email to ONTD, but I doubt they'll do anything even if it's against their own flipping rules!

It's just so, so annoying. Now the still will probably show up in the preview for the next episode -- the only thing I do watch, although I'm considering giving up on those too -- but still... I want as little time as possible for my brain to start thinking of possiblities and building up expectations. GRRRRR!!!!

For anyone responding, please, please, please don't mention ANY OTHER SPOILERS, not vague ones, not summer ones, not older, pre-show ones, not webclips, not synopses, casting, reference to stills (because there may be more D/E, Damon ones out there that I haven't seen and I'd like to keep any knowledge of them away from me). Anything that has not aired yet, I don't want to know. Thank you.

I'm not even an ONTD frequenter, but I got majorly spoiled on the third series of Downton Abbey (which has yet to air here) just by reading a subject line on the main page.

It's nearly impossible to avoid spoilers unless you avoid the Internet altogether. *sighs*

Really, I've only been spoiled by the ep stills on ONTD. But I haven't watched any season 03 DA yet so I might have been spoiled had I been up on what was going on on the show. It's really frustrating. Other than a few slip-ups from people in my TVD posts, and freaking ONTD posting stills, I've been doing pretty good. It helps that I rarely go on Twitter and don't go on Tumblr. But it is a pain, mostly because some people clearly don't even try. Ugh.

I've watched all eight episodes. I was moderately spoiled for the first couple episodes but managed to avoid it after that.

The really hard one to remain unspoiled for is Fringe.

Wow, since I haven't been spoiled on Fringe at all. I don't know I think that I've gotten so good at avoiding TVD spoilers that I've managed to apply it to all shows. It's just the damn stills that get me. Grrr.

Oh yes. Ironically, I found out about DA's major spoiler of S3 (though I was watching at a UK pace) not by Tumblr or Twitter or fanfiction.net (all of which have spoiled it since). But by the Radio Times -- some innocuous UK version of TV Guide. :p

Avoiding the Internet is right. ;)

Yeah, it just sucks. I know that stills of eps will be in TV Guide, so I avoid looking at those too now.

ONTD is about the worst place on the internet you could be if you want to avoid spoilers.

I agree with

dreamer_98 that the only way to really avoid spoilers is to give up the internet completely, people make mistakes and some don't give a shit.

See, I haven't had a problem on ONTD. It's just the stills. And I read the front page of every post. I don't know, I think that I've gotten so good at avoiding TVD spoilers that I've managed to apply it to all shows. It's just the damn stills that get me. Grrr.

I understand how frustrating that can be. One of the reasons I no longer hide from spoilers (that, and I'm a spoiler addict. It's really pathetic!) Actually, the episode stills have been the major source of spoilers this year. Everything else has been really scarce and vague. So I'm REALLY sorry that you had to stumble upon them. :/

I've found that I'm really enjoying this season without spoilers. Like I think I was waaaaaaaaaaaaay less upset about so many about 4.04 because I had NO IDEA it was being pimped as this HUGE D/E episode. I'm going into each episode with practically zero expectations and thinking of what direction could they go with Damon, Elena, Stefan that I won't like, but will be in character and follow the narrative to keep squee expectations down. It's been working.

Thanks, though, I'm really bummed about the 3 stills I've been spoiled on. *sigh*
