RE: Happy TV viewing board
For those interested, I'm looking at setting up camp at http://www.proboards.com/features It is free, but that comes with ads. For $7.00 a month you can get 50,000 ad-free viewed pages. So I was thinking of setting it up for maybe 2 months that way, and seeing how things go. If it takes off a bit, I could set up a cookie jar of sorts where people could donate a dollar here or there to keep us ad-free. Thoughts?

Your idea is very good but maybe you could save the bucks. My LJ account is a plus one, that means it's free but with ads. However, I use firefox as an internet navigator and there is a option (ABP) that blocks the ads. It works on my LJ, I have no ads when I log in my account.
It works on pretty much all the website I visit.

But not everyone uses Firefox, and I don't want to have to direct viewers to ways to get around the ads. I'm going to set the site up first and see what the ads are like, and go from there, but I don't think $7.00 a month is too bad.
