Another article about how nicely awesome Nina Dobrev is
The Fug Girls are known for ripping apart bad celebrity fashion, so coming across this blog that was all about how darn nice Nina Dobrev is was lovely to read.

Fug Girls: Nina Dobrev Wins Nicest Celebrity at Fashion Week Title at Monique Lhuillier

We've survived many a Fashion Week photo scrum from behind the lenses, and wondered how the celebrities ever manage to stand in front of them without wincing, fainting, or fleeing. But at Monique Lhuillier on Saturday night, we ended up experiencing a bit of it from the other side, because — through the magic of the universe — we were seated directly behind the two boldface names in attendance: The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev, and Matthew McConaughey's fiancée, Camilla Alves. As in, LITERALLY behind them. As in, while they posed both seated and standing, we were in an abundance of the photos and thus spent our time trying very hard to look like responsible, intelligent, mature adults with unimpeachable posture, and probably failed on all accounts because we were simultaneously trying to get good pictures for Twitter and the those things are often mutually exclusive. It's very hard to be blasé and calm while you're testing out your iPhone zoom and Googling how to spell McConaughey.

The seats also got us close-up views of the gowns they wore, which in Alves' case was a stunning canary shade and for Dobrev was a beautiful bright blue. We are suckers for color, and they were exhibits A and B as to why the awards ceremonies are such a snooze when everyone shows up in some variation on a flesh tone. Our locale also afforded us a chance to chat informally with Dobrev and, whether we meant to or not, hear much of what she said to other people. And as it turns out, Nina Dobrev is lovely. Sincerely, everything we heard her say was warm and genuine, which after almost six years in the tents we can vouch almost never happens. She was nice to Camilla Alves, putting an arm around her when they were prompted to pose for pictures, and telling her they were best friends now. She was nice when we, two wackadoo strangers in winter coats, randomly popped our heads in to tell her what a hit her red Donna Karan Emmy dress was. She was nice when that led to reminiscing about Giuliana Rancic interviewing her on the red carpet, at which point Dobrev worried about how Giuliana was feeling post-cancer surgery and fretted that she hadn't been able to get in touch with her to wish her "good luck and good energy." She was nice about the clothes — and she was right; they were very impressive best-dressed Oscar bait ("I love awards season," Dobrev giggled to Alves) — and she was nice when we popped up again to suggest she order one of each of them for her closet. She was just… nice. We wonder if it's because she's Canadian. Think about everything kind that great nation has given us: Marty McFly, Captain Von Trapp, Jack Bauer, Celine Dion and her Mighty Fist-Pump of Passion, dill pickle potato chips, and now Elena Gilbert. And what have we done for them lately? Hopefully, this Valentine is a start.

And with that (added to past other stories -- especially this one) I refuse to believe the tacky stories that occasionally come out from fans, who also tend to be either uber-Ian Somerhalder fans (who think they have a shot with him themselves, and thus can't stand Nina) or Stefan/Elena fans who hate Nina because she has the audacity to date the guy in real life who doesn't play Stefan. She's a darling, get over it haterz!

I love her to pieces. I can't understand the hate TBH. Mum was over this afternoon and we were watching the latest episode of TVD, and she commented on how stunning she looked in that dress at the ball. The woman rocks all kind of clothes and colours- the green one she wore recently looked absolutely stunning on her, but I fear it's the type of dress that could make some people look like a swamp monster

I never see the hate for Nina as an actress. So I had no idea. But yeah she always seems like a really lovely person, and sincerely nice.

It really makes the show even more wonderful to watch when you know that all the actors are also such lovely people ♥

I'm surprised some people hate the girl. She does come across as someone genuinely nice and who didn't let success go to her head. I just have to think of her vacation in Paris where she took her mom with her and looked like any other tourist to picture how she must be like IRL. I love her to pieces, the fangirls who don't probably envy her, you're right.

Thanks for posting this, Jenn :D. It's great to hear what a nice person she is from impartial observers. I especially liked that the writers associate her niceness and being Canadian :P
Both of these articles are such that they can't be summarily dismissed, like so many of the reports that get circulated online.

Her and Ian really do seem very well suited to one another.

Thanks for posting!!!

Man, I love Nina. Seriously one of my favorite actress' and the fact that she is so flippin' nice is a big part of that. I remember seeing a few interviews back when she was on Degrassi and she immediately had my heart. She is the reason I started watching TVD in the first place. Now that she is getting more press and we recieve more insite on what she is doing for the world and her fans, I can't help but truly admire her innate goodness.

She is soo .... I know the word has been so tremendously overused that it has become a cliche`..at least in her case... but wtever.. NICE!!

I mean good to know that there are still some celebrities left in the world who hasn't been "CELEB-RITISED".... from head to toe yet. They still behave as normal human, moreover nice and polite, decent, mannered human beings. Etiquette and the proper and warm way to respond to people even when sometimes they are being disturbing or pestering you is a trait not known to all. I am happy and proud she is one of those people.

And hater's will hate all the time. You can't filter or transform all the junk-filled mind of the world. It affected me before...now when rumors and hate-news fly... my reaction is this:

I've never heard of anyone mentioning her being not nice except for the people you already mentioned. She's a sweetheart, I refuse to believe anything else!
