Logan, Veronica and the Sex
Does anyone else think that Logan and Veronica sleeping together is just going to be presented casually? You know, like it happened over the summer, we don't see it and now they are just in a physical relationship, no big whoop? I don't know, but lately I've been thinking that's pretty much gonna happen. I hope I'm wrong, but that's what I'm thinking. Anyone else? Or someone wanna convince me I'm being silly to imagine that such an event would take place casually off-camera with no fanfare?

Unfortuantely I agree -- I think that's how it will happen and that disappoints me greatly.

I hope we're wrong, but beyond the first kiss we've just been so disappointed or denied any big moment.

I certainly hope not, but I can imagine it happening anyway.

Perhaps the only reason it would be done with fanfare is to get more fans interested. As the only main couple, and one that has had an awkward relationship (which hopefully gets explained to all of the new viewers), having them having sex for the first time could really cement people's interest in the romantic part of the show.

Of course, if things start out poorly for LV, I can see the sex being done in some weird way taht doesn't express everything that should go into that event for them.

That's actually part of why I think we won't get it. Both KB and RT are pimping the possible new you know what already which tells me neither WANTS L/V. Plus, RT simply doesn't seem to get how important those moments are.
WeHo M.: VM - Breathe Meafrocurl on August 17th, 2006 06:23 pm (UTC)
I know that both of them are pimping this whatever, but I guess I'm hoping that the fan reaction will be so bad that it won't really matter (I'm a huge OC fan, and JS was so excited about this guy Johnny last season and he turned into a giant tool that everyone hated, which only made the RM fans stronger at some level.)

I think I'll stick with The OC parallel to help me imagine that great sex will happen (though RT could always do the same thing JS did on The OC, and have some great LV sex and then have them break up the next episode.)

I would like to think that we will get to see it. I like to think that Rob and Co. do understand how integral L/V is to the viewers. However, I am still nervous. I don't know how much I trust Rob anymore...
Stephsmiles1_9 on August 17th, 2006 12:51 am (UTC)
Although, they DO understand that we like to see shirtless Logan...

I don't think that at all sadly. I mean, he said he didn't think the epic/aftermath would have just an effect on viewers and that's why there was no follow-up. Shakes head.

But does he realize that we really aren't interested in seeing Logan shirtless with other girls? I was shocked by the lack of SHIRTLESSLOGAN! comments after TRoG because so many weren't exactly thrilled with the L/H scene.
Stephsmiles1_9 on August 17th, 2006 07:06 pm (UTC)
You know, the more I think about it, the more I think that Rob really just doesn't get it. He's always seemed to focus more on the mysteries than the emotions/relationships on the show. Which is sad because while I do enjoy the mysteries, what made me fall in love with VM in the first place was Veronica and her relationships after the death of her best friend and then later all the freakin' chemistry between V and L.

So my point is I don't think he's interested at all in telling the L/V stuff, but that's the stuff we need to see in order to stay invested in the show.

But I'm still going to try and remain optimistic that we will see THE SEX, at least until the first episode airs.

Did that make any sense?...It sounded really good in my head. :)

It made perfect sense and I agree 1000%!

I think its going to be like V/D as opposed to the Kendall/Logan scenes. Meaning we know it happens but we don't get any naked Logan. I really don't see them dismissing the issue all together, because one of Logan's defining characteristics is sex. He has a lot of it, and most of his banter with Veronica has some underlying tension to it. I hope they go with the Hannah/Logan, and show SOMETHING, while also showing how incredibly schmoopy Logan gets while in love, as opposed to the way he was with Kendall. RT better not dissapoint, or think I may cry!

I'm preparing myself for disappointment because he just doesn't seem to get it. Any comment about "destiny" seems to be nothing more than lip service. I mean, based on canon, DUNCAN is her meant to be. Everything we saw on the show indicates that if Duncan were supposed to show back up, within a few months she'd be back with him. She ALWAYS choosing him. That's the canon that RT has established.
sweetumms33sweetumms33 on August 18th, 2006 02:15 pm (UTC)
Yeah but you have to remember that he wants his show to stay alive. And Veronica and Duncan? Um...no not so much interest there. I think there was a very real reason he broke the two of them up, mainly because it wasn't working on screen as well as it does on paper. Duncan may have been the original Cannon, but so was Dawson on Dawson's creek. But the writers and the show realized certain actors have a better chemistry, and to work with it. I think when RT means "destiny" he also means eventually. Because to keep it interesting, they have to keep fight and screwing up and trying to be with one another. It's just better that way. I really really hope it isn't as awkward as the V/D scenes though. I just want a scene like the one in the flashback backseat makeout...with a shirtless Logan. Why oh why is this show not on HBO so we could have naked!Logan????

Rob's promised that we will see LoVe in real time at the beginning of this season-no flashbacks. Plus I think that is way too important to just be mentioned casually. Rob's not that evil!
Arabian: Pilotarabian on August 17th, 2006 06:21 pm (UTC)
But does that mean we'll see sex in the beginning? I'm not so sure. And sorry, but I do think that Rob is that evil now. Sigh.

I'm not sure.. I think it's a pretty big deal and I don't think they'll just dismiss it. And Veronica finding out about what Beaver did to her could easily explain how they've managed to go the entire summer without jumping each other, because that obviously would have messed with her head again and brought all her rape insecurities back again.

As long as we get to see some sex, whether it's their first time or 345th, I'm happy!
Arabian: Pilotarabian on August 17th, 2006 06:24 pm (UTC)
I think it's a big deal, but there are a lot of things I think are big deals that RT doesn't seem to get in regards to couples.

What happened with Beaver is the one thing I can see them going with, but if they do, I expect, I don't know maybe the sex after the first arc is solved, but that it will be presented as if an epiphany instead of Veronica just WANTING Logan.

As long as we get to see some sex, whether it's their first time or 345th, I'm happy!

I'm glad for you, but I think the first time SHOULD be seen and if we don't get it, I will be unhappy. Of course, I'm not thinking we're going to get anything but maybe a fade to black, a casual, they're sleeping together and nothing else.

I just have no faith left.

Ok. To be totally, 100% honest - I almost hope they don't show it. I know that's probably a really unpopular opinion, but I'd rather it be glossed over than for them to mishandle it as badly as the V/D sex was mishandled. I really, really love Logan and Veronica, and if the show messes it up, or it's a let-down in some way, I know the whole thing will leave a bad taste in my mouth forever more.

Because honestly, the Duncan situation was BAD. I don't want them screwing with LoVe that way.
Arabian: Summer cararabian on August 17th, 2006 06:25 pm (UTC)
I understand that concern, but the difference is that KB/JD DO have chemistry and most viewers WANT them together. OTOH, as I said above, it very well may be just presented as an epiphany, as opposed to the two just wanting one another. Which would suck.
harper47harper47 on August 17th, 2006 02:27 pm (UTC)
Well I should certainly hope not. Surely there are programming monkeys at the CW who will play up the sex? Surely? Not spoiling myself this year means I'm not going to know anything but I should hope Rob is not THAT much of an idiot.

But then - I'm on the wow, everything I hear is NOT making me excited about the show and that just makes me sad. I want to be excited. (I'm kind of a sight to see when I'm excited. People sometimes do run in terror - hee!)

But hey- Jennifer. They didn't change the SYTYCD results - and I was fully expecting them to do that as they were clearly pimping and wanting Travis. So if Benji can win, against the pimping, let's just hope that all the wild monkey sex we are longing for will happen.

And yes - I am wearing my perky Pollyanna glasses today because I'm just so freaking happy!

I haven't watched yet, but I did read that he won, so yay for you.

I dunno, I'm fully back into expecting the worst so that if it doesn't suck, I'm thrilled and if it does, I'm resigned.
