30 Day Vampire Diaries-Meme, Day 11 | Day 12

I deliberately combined these two days because it's the same one for both ...

Damon's line from "Isobel" (Season 01, Episode 21)

"I do believe in killing the messenger. You know why? Cuz it sends a message."

I do genuinely like the twist on the familiar line itself; nice clever turn of phrase there, however, I'd be lying if I didn't say this was my favorite (both as a Damon line, and as a quote from the show) because I just adore Ian Somerhalder's delivery. The menace delivered so silky smooth, with the perfect pauses in the right place followed by that emphatic head bang (obviously scripted) was just chill-inducing. I never don't love listening to that moment in the series.

I totally agree with everything you said. "Chill-inducing" is a great way to describe it especially when contrasted with his velvet tone of voice. How many more times this season will we be overwhelmed by Ian's phenomenal acting ability??

His line-deliveries are just so kick-ass, but that remains my favorite still. (I am particularly partial to "I don't deserve you" from "Rose" but the line itself not really stand-out-ish.)

I love that line as well. We're lucky to have the likes of Ian playing Damon. He's awesome!

Yeah, I watched some of them, and was going to actually do the whole thing, but just not in the mood, unfortunately. I figure I'll just go with my original plan and do a rewatch when

sarcasticcheese comes out to visit.

I definitely considered this one myself, so I'll just nod and agree with everything you said and let it stand. Ultimately I've chosen other moments, but this one is still one of my top five for sure!

I love that line. I always enjoy when Damon is threatening bad guys, though (or even 'people on the other side' who aren't, strictly speaking, bad guys).

This is by far my favorite Damon line laced with straight up menace. Not only was it the perfect line to use for that scene, but the way Ian delivered it, with that hiss of contempt and the added emphasis of the throat grabbing and final bang of Isobel's head on the floor really drove home everything Damon was feeling in that moment. Excellent choice!

Oooh, it gives me chills. The way his voice drops down to a whisper, the way he leans in close enough to kiss her (which is what he'd been doing literally seconds before), the way he hisses the last few words, the way he bangs her head on the floor. Damon is sooooooo badass.
