From misskoum ... 1. What/who makes up your favorite ship and why?
I think you mean which is my all-time favorite ship, if so ... I don't know. I have main ones (Mulder/Scully, Buffy/Xander, Paris/Torres, Lucy/Alan-Michael, Katie/Simon, Sheldon/Penny, Logan/Veronica, etc.) and it's really hard to pin it down to one, but if I absolutely had to, I'd go with Danny and Michelle (Paul Anthony Stewart and Joie Lenz -- now Bethany Joy Galeotti) of Guiding Light. Why? Even though their story fell completely apart at the end, meandered all over the place beyond the first six months, was never given the full first-class status it deserved, the foundation was awesomely written and that theme carried through to the end. The actors had THE best chemistry I've ever seen between two actors, were both incredibly charismatic and just unbelievably beautiful together.
2. Do you enjoy writing dialogue or description better?
Description. Much to my detriment, I admit. I tend to go overboard with description at times. I love adverbs and adjectives way too much.
3. Where did your screen name come from?
My favorite figure skater, Oksana Baiul. It was in 1995 that I first got an email address and I decided I wanted something that reminded me of Oksana -- she was my main fandom at the time -- but wasn't obviously her for when my interests moved on. That year her most famous routine was performed to a Peter Gabriel song in which she wore a harem-themed costume and so the routine was known as "Arabian." Once I came upon that idea, I fell in love with it and try and use it or a variation (arabean) whenever I can to this day.
4. What's your favorite thing you like about yourself?
My enthusiasm for what I love.
5. If you could go back in time, would you? If yes, what would you do?
I would; I'd go back and finish college, not screw it up like I did the first time. :(
From sweetiegrrl2346 ... 1. What are your top three episodes of Vampire Diaries and why?
"Fool Me Once" - This episode was not only the culmination (in many ways) of what the previous episodes had been building up to, it also opened the door for a whole slew of things that came in the episodes to follow.
"Miss Mystic Falls" - Yes, the Damon/Elena interactions (especially the dance and final scene) were key in listing this episode, but I also thought the Stefan/Elena dance practice was adorable and it set up the perfect contrast to the dance that Damon/Elena later shared. There were a lot of strong moments like that. I also thought that Stefan falling apart was handled beautifully.
"Haunted" - This was tough; the first two I knew right away, but there were about six that I had to winnow down and in the end it was really hard choosing this over "Children of the Damned," but I went with "Haunted" because this is when the stakes really began to rise in the series. We got the full glimpse of just how unpredictable this show can be, and also the bond between Damon and Elena began to truly blossom here.
2. List, in order of most to least sexy, your favorite versions of Damon (although *least* doesn't really apply): Smirking Damon, Smiling Damon, Conflicted Damon, Protective Damon, Angry Damon, Sarcastic Damon, Human Damon, Heartbroken Damon, In-love Damon
Smiling Damon, Protective Damon, In-Love Damon, Sarcastic Damon, Conflicted Damon, Heartbroken Damon, Smirking Damon, Angry Damon, Human Damon
3. What is your ideal scenario for Damon and Elena's first kiss?
Oh, lordy, uhm, lemme think. Okay, Elena playing the 'we're friends' card one time too many, and Damon makes it clear that he sees her as more than that and kisses her. She responds and then freaks out, LOL!
4. Who, besides Daniel, could you have seen Betty spending the rest of her life with and why?
Gio. He and Betty didn't work because she hadn't found herself fully yet, but with that said, Daniel really is her true love! :D
5. What do you think happened between Betty/Daniel after their dinner date in London?
They caught up over dinner, on the surface things normal and light, but underlain with tension because of the realization of Daniel's feelings, and Betty knowing about that realization and her brain whirring at hundred miles an hour. At the end of the night, tension, awkwardness, whatever, before Daniel's all 'fuck it' and goes for it. He kisses her, pulls back, eyes meet, go into the kiss again ... fade to black. (hehehehe!)
