Harry/Hermione fics ...
I know that I have some Harry/Hermione fans on my flist, and I've been hunkering to read some good H/Hr. So I'm looking for longer fics with plot, going AU from book 5 preferably, but I could deal with AU from book 6 if it makes sense. I also likes the smut. At least R. So any recs?
Sinsinstralpride on April 20th, 2009 02:11 am (UTC)
I would love to hear about these as well... >_>

I wish I hadn't lost my bookmarks. T___T I had some good fics in there I would have loved to share.

Aww, you're an H/HR fan? That's awesome.
Sinsinstralpride on April 20th, 2009 02:32 am (UTC)
Yeah. ^_^ Well, I'm REALLY a H/Hr/R shipper, but I love H/Hr too. Besides, good H/Hr/R is hard to find. =

Ah, I've never been into threesomes in fandom (or, erm, real life), LOL!
Sinsinstralpride on April 20th, 2009 02:46 am (UTC)
HAHA! Fair enough. Threesomes are a tricky thing to pull off and I'm very particular about believability and such, so I don't find much up to my standards. [Erm... this probably stems from my real life experience in a threesome for several months. >_>]

Hmm, well my link does "sharing is caring." LOL!

Portkey.org is the place to go. :D

Or do you want specific recs? .-.

Yeah, I'm looking at Portkey, but I want specific recs.

Thanks, I'll check them out!!

I will persistently recommend Cassandra Clair's trilogy. Yes, it's epic. Yes, it's controversial (copyright issues galore), and yes, it's heavily into Draco (not the dud that's in the JKR's book, but think Logan-esque).

And I don't care! It's a treat to read, it's takes off after book 5, it's twisted, funny, harrowing, and in many ways a better written piece than the actual books.

Oh, and even though there's angst and triangles, it's a definite and all-way Harry/Hermione thing.

Okay, I'm shutting up before someone throws something at me. lol.
Sinsinstralpride on April 20th, 2009 02:43 am (UTC)
Haha, I've actually read that. There was a time in the HP fandom heyhday that I had read pretty much everything I could get my hands on. [Yes, I was trapped in HP during the crazy years, lol.] I thought it was pretty good but I didn't really like her writing style. That's just me though, I don't like Jane Austen for the same reason. Something about the writing style and characterization bugs me. *shrug*

Any other suggestions?

Hm, well I like Jane Austen, so maybe I will definitely like this, LOL!

Any other suggestions?

lol, probably not from me: I love Jane Austen! :) I'm afraid whatever I recommend would not suit. :)
Sinsinstralpride on April 20th, 2009 02:49 am (UTC)
Oh! No, I didn't mean that I disliked the styles for the same reasons or for their similarity. I just meant that I disliked them both for stylistic reasons, regardless of the style itself. That's why I'm not that fond of Palahniuk either.

I'm willing to give anything a fair shot though, so feel free to share!

Oh, I see. I'll have to go dig through my archives, because it's been a while since I've read or copied any, but I'll be back. :)

I was hoping you'd pop in here, you'll have to send it to me, you know it's impossible to find online now. I actually did go looking to see if someone had put it up somewhere, but no luck.
hiddeneloisehiddeneloise on April 20th, 2009 02:48 am (UTC)
I will e-mail this to you. I have it saved from all these years ago. She took it down since, because she's publishing books now, and they are somewhat like that fic, except, don't laugh, I like the fic better! :)

It really was an epic thing. It's in 3 books, and someone made illustrations even. I'll either e-mail you this or upload it somewhere. Stay tuned. :)

I've been in the mood to read Harry/Hermione lately, too, so I've been combing the recs at crack_broom. My new favorite is As Rome Begins to Fall by goldy_dollar and fated_addiction, and I also enjoyed Fixing Harry by Lynney. Not sure how well the latter fits your requirements, but I'll let you know if I stumble across anything else worth reading. :)

Aww, those are two authors I know well (and are on my flist) from the Doctor Who fandom.

Okay, it's really weird to see myself get reced for Harry/Hermione fic! XD

I know I had some favourites back in the day, but it's been so long that I don't really remember anymore. I'll think on it and get back to you if something hits me, though!

As you're an old school fandomer you're probably already aware of The Paradigm Of Uncertainty but to this day it's still one of my all time favourite fanfics.

When I was in the HP fandom I was a Harry/Draco shipper, so not much of a fan of Harry/anyoneelse (although better Hermione than Ginny! ACK!), but I did read this one and loved, loved, loved it! Lori (madlori) is a great writer, and I loved her writing so much that I even followed her into the Brokeback Mountain fandom when she started dabbling in that. Heartily recommended. Can be found here, and I think there was also a Yahoo!Group somewhere...
