05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
06. The character I would shag anytime
07. The character I'd want to be like
08. The character I'd slap
09. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I hate

01. The first character I fell in love with - The Doctor (Nine was my first)
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Donna
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't - Jack
04. The character I love that everyone else hates - Lucy Saxon
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer - No one really
06. The character I would shag anytime - The Doctor
07. The character I'd want to be like - Rose
08. The character I'd slap - Ten I (I love him so, but seriously dude, he so needs to get over himself some times)
09. A pairing that I love - Duh, Doctor/Rose
10. A pairing that I hate - Doctor/anyone else, Rose/anyone else
11. Favorite character - Donna!!
12. My five favorite characters - Donna, Nine, Ten, Rose, Harriet Jones
13. My five least favorite characters - River (sorry, Alex, I do love her lots, but what an ANNOYING character that just played to every potential weakness she could have as an actress), Joan (I thought she was patronizing and holier-than-thou), Adam (little weasel), Jackie (sorry), Jack (I haven't watched VotD yet, so that's why no Astrid -- whom I may actually love, but then again I may not, but I know she's not horribly popular among most D/R shipper circles)
14. Which character I am most like - Probably Donna (but no where near as awesome)
15. My deep, dark fandom secret - I absolutely, positively LOVED "The Girl in the Fireplace" when I first watched it. I thought it was utterly gorgeous. :: hangs head in shame :: (Clearly, I wasn't quite up on the characterization and arcs then, huh?)

Heee. I love how much I agree with you on stuff. Except for the Jackie thing, lol. *Pets her*

Well, I do like her, she can just really annoy me sometime that's why I listed her. But overall, I do like her. I just like all of the other regular/recurring characters so much more.

Other than that, it's good to agree. :D

ETA: Oh, wait! Does this mean I am NOT the only person who finds Joan patronizing and holier-than thou? I totally think it was the actress's take on the role, otherwise I would have loved her and the two-parter. She was just so cold and, ugh, she ruined the John Smith/Joan love story for me. I like to imagine how much better it would have been with an actress like Eve Myles (for example) in the role. Ah well.

Lol, yes it does! :D Eve Myles would have been awesome! I love her!
Arabian: Dr Who (Ten)arabian on November 2nd, 2008 08:49 pm (UTC)
She would have. Or any number of actresses who brought a warmth and a loveliness to the role that were just so lacking. Because of how she carried herself and acted, the actress looked at LEAST a decade older than David and I just did NOT buy that someone as stuffily cute and adorably sweet as John Smith would fall in love with her. No, no, no.

Well I'm glad you remembered to list Harriet in favorites, I totally forgot, although it still would have been a debate between her and the Master. Can't agree with most of you non favorite characters because I understand Joan and like Jackie and Jack though.
Arabian: Dr Who (10)arabian on November 2nd, 2008 09:16 pm (UTC)
How could I forget Harriet Jones, [insert title]? She was the definition of awesome before Donna. I ADORE her. I just don't share the Master love that so many have. John Simm is great and I do like (although, I suppose *like* isn't the word) him, I just don't LOVE him like so many others do.

I do like Jackie. It didn't say characters you don't like. Just of the regular/recurring characters (and that's how I was looking at it), she's the one I like the least (after Jack). I do like her, I just get annoyed by her at times. As for Jack, I know that I am soooooo in fandom minority, but I don't like Jack. I hate that he was there in the way of Nine/Rose yummy time for the last five episodes of Nine. *Sigh*

I know, I know, soooooooooo in the minority.

Well, my Jack love was kind of shallow for his first few episodes (he's just so yummy in Boom Town, sometimes I'm shallow) I didn't really love him until BW/PotW and then it's built in Torchwood and his later appearances on the show.

Harriet Jones is completely awesome, that's why I've made two vids about Harriet Jones=Awesome while I my two Master vids are cracked fun times and funky Doctor/Master which I don't really ship anyway. SO I probably should have listed Harriet, but I also really like the Master so it's a mood thing.

Again, in the minority, I don't find John Barrowman that attractive. I'm just so not with fandom here, LOL! I DO like him better on TW than I ever did on Who though, and I do kinda ship Jack/Gwen -- just because Barrowman and Eve Myles have fabulous chemistry.

I just love Harriet Jones so. Seriously, not one moment of her on screen did I not absolutely love, love, love!

(Hee, icon love!)

I didn't really see it in TEC/TDD, I didn kind of resent his presence there at first, but in Boom Town I just started drooling over JB. Probably the hottest I've found him actually. I have an ever growing number of people I ship Jack with more than Gwen but I think we can probably just agree to disagree. I don't hate the pairing but they're a long way from a favorite of mine.

More Will/Elizabeth love!
Arabian: Gwen Somberarabian on November 2nd, 2008 10:15 pm (UTC)
I didn't expect to ship Jack with anyone, but I really love Barrowman's chemistry with Myles. And it's all about the chemistry for me. I'm not uber-uber into them though. I also shipped Gwen/Owen for a bit, and I really do like Gwen/Rhys too. Basically, I'm a Gwen-whore. I ADORE Gwen/Eve Myles.

Ooh, Will/Elizabeth. Lovely icon. I'm going to link you to my looooooooong Pirates of the Caribbean post with much W/E love contained within: Pirates of Caribbean Trilogy in case you're interested.

Oh, and on the subject of linking, if you're interested (I don't think we were friended then), here's my long, rambling thoughts on Torchwood which I just watched all of in a few weeks a few months ago.

Torchwood posts (about four of them).

The only person I ship Gwen with is Rhys, which is a big point in disfavor of Jack/Gwen, that and I think they'd be a train wreck even if they maybe ought to shag first and then realize it would be a train wreck. Since Tosh is my favorite Torchwood character I wonder how I'll deal with next season, but it will have Mickey so I might deal.

On the subject of Pirates: The end of At World's End had me bawling for Doctor Who related reasons. I just could *not* take another tearful beach goodbye. I couldn't and that must have been a good year after Doomsday. It gave me flashbacks though.

Sure it was sad in and of itself, definitely sniffle but it was the Doctor/Rose fan in me that made me want to bawl.
Arabian: Dr Who (10)arabian on November 2nd, 2008 10:45 pm (UTC)
If you're a huge Gwen/Rhys fan, I could see why Gwen/anyone else would be not so something you're into.

Re: Pirates! Man, I watched PotC last movie BEFORE I watched s2 of DW so I've never even THOUGHT of the two in connection. But yeah, I can totally see that now.

I made you think it, you can't unthink it.
