Two in a Row! I Loved (mostly) VM (Ain't No Mountain High Enough)

Okay overall thoughts aout Ain't No Mountain High Enough --

  • I loved, loved, loved, LOVED Veronica tonight. So much love. She was MY GIRL from last season. Dang, what a difference a Donut-less Veronica is!! YES!!!

  • I loved, loved, loved the LoVe scene in the beginning. She wasn't a bitch at all; he was cute and sweet. And they snarked, but it was friendly snark. And I liked how it looked like she kept trying to not smile. Heeheehee. And he did look at her a lot like he was trying not to show how much he still adored her. Sigh.

A few small things I liked particularly regarding LoVe (I mentioned them above, but I figured I'd put them in the full post):

    - In the above scene, after Logan said "emotionally unavailable women," Veronica did a bada-bada-bump noise with her hands on the booth, like a gong after a joke is given. Hahahaha!!!

    - In the first Logan/Hannblah scene, Logan mentioned having Newton's second law tattoo-ed on his heart -- according to another poster in the spoiler thread that's the mass x acceleration, etc. line that Logan told Veronica in the M.A.D. bathroom scene. So squeeeeeeeeee!!!!

  • Weevil with hair. I'm not sure yet.

  • Logan without as much hair. Wah! Ah, well, not as bad as NitW.

  • Why is Logan wearing argyle again? And light green argyle no less? Does he truly believe that is the way to Veronica's heart now ...

  • ... or was he getting into character to woo Hannblah, the most annoying female character the show has introduced since Mandy (who was supposed to be annoying)?

  • Hannblah-- okay, yeah, I was completely spoiled and yes, I wanted her to be annoying and I wanted them to be blah together to decrease the risk of people jumping off the LoVe ship because they are desperate for schmoopy Logan. But, she really WAS annoying. And they really were blah together. They didn't have anti-chemistry like I think that Jason and CC have; they did have a little bit, but not much and nothing even remotely to write home about.

  • Logan period (other than the annoying, so calculated stuff with Hannblah*) was adorable. I heart him so.

    * Oh and for anyone who missed it, Logan was doing that with Hannblah because that was Dr. Griffith (her dad) who picked her up. The guy who is testifying against Logan about seeing him stab Felix on the bridge. So this is all some ploy -- not that I don't fear that Logan will start to care for her because I've been burned way too much this season to not worry about it.

  • I love Jackie. I thought Tessa did a great job and Wallace wasn't around much this ep, but I love when he was trying to get rid of all of the balls for her. And man, poor thing, she stuck it out and I just, I love her.

  • However, ugh, I hate Madison, but boy did Amanda Norbert sure look pretty. Just gorgeous.

  • I really enjoyed the Keith/Terrence scenes and Enrico hit it out of the park (heeheehee, pun intended) with his performance in the final scene. The disappointment and dissillusionment was so beautifully played when Terrence reveald that he threw a game. Great job by Rico.

  • I didn't get it before (I know, I know) but I totally get the Jeffrey Sams hotness now. Phew, baby!

  • I think Mac and Beaver are cute, but nothing to write home about. They're just cute. I really don't think that Kyle and Tina Majorino have any great chemistry, I just think they're cute, but I would never ship them because I'm all about the chemistry.

  • Like with Wallace, not much Dick -- but what we got was great. And dang, I'm so proud of Beaver for getting him and getting him good!!! Now, I just wonder what's the deal with "Sally?"

  • It was great seeing PRINCIPLE Clemmons again. And I loved his parting line about listening to some of the students. Yay for Clemmons/Mars bonding!

  • I also enjoyed the return of past players (which I always enjoy), Corny (LOVED him and Weevil), Madison, Mrs. Hauser (and I'm glad she was caught because she was a bitch, but nice to see her because continuity rocks).

  • The continuity of The Girl Next Door (with the car, "your buddy, Logan," heeheehee) Clash of the Tritons (the Tritons) was nice also, but that leads me to one of the two things I grr'd about.

The only things I didn't like were:

  • Did we have to see a clear shot of Duncan in the shot of the Tritons? Oh well, at least Veronica seemed completely noncaring or even slightly affected by menition of him, so that was good.

  • Hannblah. Ick.

  • My poor Logan with Hannblah! Double ick.

  • And sorry, but that last scene worried me a bit. I didn't like the vibe I got from that scene -- please don't put Veronica with Weevil!?!? I like them as friends and I don't want the bond (or whatever you want to call it) between Logan and Weevil completely destroyed and this would do it. Plus, I don't see how Logan could be with Veronica comfortably with her flitting with a guy who was with Lilly while Lilly was with him, not to mention all of the resentment between them in the past. I don't know. It did worry me.

I completely agree. I saw a lot of great drama highlights in this episode especially Veronica who I actually clapped out loud for at one point last night, Keith - who completely sold his hurt at the cheating and Jackie. She was magnificent last night. (wow from a drama lowlight to a drama highlight all in one season- you go Tessa).

I didn't like that Weevil vibe at all. Gah - I don't like the hair and I don't like the vibe.

Hannah really was blahing wasn't she? I was gagging over the giggles - it was such a sugar overload. Could they have painted her anymore cute and sparkly? She needed glitter.

"I loved, loved, loved, LOVED Veronica tonight. So much love. She was MY GIRL from last season. Dang, what a difference a Donut-less Veronica is!! YES!!!"

You said it! Her badassness is back in full mode! Donut really sucked the energy out of her.

Overall, I agree with you on both the good and less likable highlights of the episode. I actually find Hannblah kinda cute - sugary, annoying cute, but she seems harmless so far. I'm not seeing the chemistry b/w her and Logan, which all fine by me. It wouldn't surprise me if Rob does put Veronica and Weevil together at some point, but yeah, their chemistry is much better suited as friends. I don't mind seeing a jealous Logan though.

Just had to comment, because I equally loved the episode. I didn't think I'd like it so much knowing that "you know who" was going to make her first appearance. But it was so reminded me of first season. The L/V flirting in the beginning especially. I refuse to see it as anything other. Plus raincheck on the hot date! Hehe... Okay I'm done.
