Another thing that has surprised me is how much I like Kyle this season. Boy, what a difference a haircut makes. Seasons one and two I thought the actor should never be really cast as anything other than "thug#2" in anything, but now, I'm not only liking his character, I'm wanting to see him pair up with Isabelle and MYGOSH! he actually briefly (very briefly) reminded me of Jason Dohring tonight.
I only have two complaints with the show now: First, I think they've made Sean too wimpy, wimpy for my taste. Give the boy a little fire. Well, I guess he has some, but it only comes across as whining and I'm not sure if it's the writing/set-up or the acting, because I've really enjoyed the actor prior to this season. My other is the new boss, Meghan. Man, I really wanted her to be dead tonight. She's just not that good of an actress and she and Tom are a big, fat solid bust, especially after the awesome beauty of the introduction of the Tom/Alana love story -- which was one of my favorite hours of television ever!
Still, those are two small thingies in the ocean of awesomeness I think this season is.
Tonight's episode was pretty good, I thought, for a clear bottle episode (an episode shot on mostly one set to save money, Star Trek did these every so often). I liked that they worked in some good psychological stuff within the action of the episode, although I did figure that P.J. was behind it early on when he reacted to Meghan's "death." (Damnit!!, I really wanted her dead, but as soon as Sean "died" too, I knew they would both live, the both including her. Sigh.) Still, I enjoyed it, even if it wasn't a stand-out or as good as the rest of the season, but hey, 'bottle' episodes rarely are.
And the preview for next week? Without spoiling, I'll just say SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
