Another series trilogy rec....
Alas, the 3rd book is not out yet. It's not coming out until September 2013, so you have time to catch up. DO SO! OMG! Anyhoo, it's The Fire and Thorns Trilogy by Rae Carson. Technically, it's YA, but it feels more like a standard fantasy novel just from a young woman's point of view. Here's the description:

Once every century, one person is chosen for greatness. But the prophecy is vague, and Elisa, always overshadowed by her accomplished older sister, has no idea why she was chosen or how she will fulfill the expectations. Her future is unknown and her potential is tremendous—even if she doesn’t realize it. A king asks her to save his troubled country. A savage enemy hunts her for its own—dead or alive. A revolutionary asks for her heart. And in the midst of ferocious battles and harsh quests, Elisa will find herself. She will find the strength she’s always possessed. She’ll find deep and abiding love. She’ll awaken the power that only she can control. And she’ll face those who want to rip all of it away.

The first book is called THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS and the second is THE CROWN OF EMBERS. The third book will be called THE BITTER KINGDOM. I just finished reading the second book, and really this is just fantastically engrossing stuff. All of the characters are so well-developed, the lead, Elisa, is wonderfully complex. The love interest -- whom I won't reveal -- is wholeheartedly swoon-worthy. There's action, adventure, a wee bit of humor, intrigue, conspiracy, family.... ah, it's just really glorious.

Highly, highly recommended!

There's also a novella that's a prequel and told from Elisa's sister's point of view called The Shadow Cats. I haven't read it yet because I'm not ready to go backwards and out of Elisa's mindset, but I'm sure it will be fantastic.

Damn, it seems interesting but it's only available on amazon for me and I kinda boycott Amazon for several reasons, so... lol.
No big deal, I have a looong list of fanfics to read plus the books I got at Christmas plus the one I buy each time I step in a bookstore. :P

I loooove that book series. So great and Elisa and her internal struggles are really different for most YA fantasy.

If you like that series, you might like "Graceling" by Kristin Cashore.
