Haiti earthquake donations
Copying this from shangri__la ...

As we all probably know already, a major tragedy has happened in Haiti. There was a 7.0 magnitude earthquake om Tuesday which has been catastrophic, with over 100,000 feared dead.

I just wanted to put up this link to Wyclef Jean's YELE HAITI website, which has begun to organize donations to help the people of Haiti.

If you have a cell phone and can, please text YELE to 501501. By doing so, you will be donating $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (the $5 will be charged to your phone bill). Even if you can't donate, please pass the word along. Every little bit counts.

I'm unemployed right now and not doing too hot, but I did text and donate that $5.00 because every little bit helps.

ETA: You can also text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief for Haiti.

And you can also help at the links found here: Support Disaster Relief in Haiti. It depends on which country you're in, but we all have to help however we can.

This is a great thing, I think. It's very easy to do and, hey, it's something.

I did the Red Cross text donation, the "90999" thing. it sends $10. But yes, whichever one, however much, it's all much needed help.

Wow, thanks for letting me know about that. I'm on vacation so my internet access is spotty and I had no idea what had happened. That's so incredibly sad. I'll definitely text and try to see what else I can do.

It's awful, they think over 100,000 may have died. It's just so terrible.

This disaster in Haiti could have happened anywhere else in the world, so you can't just sit ,watch and feel nothing for the victims. No matter how little we afford giving we should all participate to this mass donation. These people need serious material support to rebuild their homes and life. Car Donations
