Jason Dohring cast in CW Pilot - 'Body Politic'
I don't want to get my hopes up again and have them dashed, but FWIW .....

From Moviehole (via Hollywood Reporter) --
Jason Dohring ("Veronica Mars") and Minka Kelly ("Friday Night Lights") will star in the new series about optimistic up-and-coming staffers in Washington. Kelly will play Hope, an all-American girl who leaves her life in Michigan after the death of her mother and heads to D.C., where her long-lost dad, Sen. Webster (Tim Matheson), has just been appointed Attorney General, and takes a job on his staff. Dohring will play a reporter with the Washington Post.

Another bit from MSNBC --
After its success "90210" remake, the CW has a do-over of "Melrose Place" in the works. Other potential new series include "Vampire Diaries" and "Body Politic hoping to tap into," an interest in vampires and the idealism of the Obama administration, and "Light Years," about a teenage girl getting out of foster care and trying to reunite her birthparents.

Hey dear!

here's the link to the Futon Critic:

And here's the link to the development announcement (no actors casting yet):

But why go there? Here's literally all the info they have:

THE BODY POLITIC (The CW) - Scott Winant ("Californication") has signed on to helm the drama pilot, about a young woman who moves to D.C. to work for a senator and the other eager up-and-comers she befriends. Bill Robinson and Jason Rothenberg co-created the hour and are executive producing alongside Peter Horton for CBS Paramount Network Television.

As much as I adore "Friday Night Lights," I have to say that Minka isn't the strongest actress to put at the center of a show.

Yeah, I'm NOT happy about that. She's not very good at all and it worries me if this happens. My only hope is that she and Jason have amazing chemistry.

Minka's not the strongest of the FNL girls, but I will gladly hope for Jason on my TV again.

I'd flat-out say she's the weakest, so not happy about that, but yes, to have Jason on TV again? Wonderful!! And if they have chemistry, that can overcome a lot of shortcomings.

I realize Jason can have chemistry with a chicken, so I that has me feeling better.

Any Jason is good Jason to me so here's hoping.

"Body Politic hoping to tap into," an interest in vampires and the idealism of the Obama administration

Yikes...MSNBC needs to check their comma use. Or rather...use them at all. I'm picturing a series about idealistic Obama administration vampires. ;p

But yay for JD getting more work. :D

Heh, Obama's administration is full of vampires ... bet the GOP would be behind that idea, lol!
