'Washingtonienne' picked up!!
So, yay, 'Washingtonienne' has been picked up for eight episodes, but hey, it's something. Jason will OFFICIALLY be back on our screens for at least eight weeks. That's something!
HBO makes 'Washingtonienne' official
By Jeff Dufour and Patrick Gavin

Sarah Jessica Parker is producing it. Its stars were here this fall to film it. And now, HBO is making it official. Sources tell Yeas & Nays that the cable network has picked up eight episodes of the series, based on Jessica Cutler's tell-all book of of sex and scandal on Capitol Hill. The show stars Rachael Taylor (the Aussie actress of "Transformers" fame), (who's appeared in "Disturbia" and "Sons & Daughters") and Bitsie Tullochas young D. C.-ites. The actresses joined Parker in November for shooting outside the Treasury Department building, in front of the Old Ebbitt Grill, at The Diner in Adams Morgan and Ben's Chili Bowl, among other locations.HBO's offices are closed for the holidays, and no one there could be reached for comment.
So, yay. It's something.

lol I think annie_oakley broke this last week.

It's fantastic that the show got picked up. Now here's to hoping they give JD's Spencer a makeover and get rid of the Trump hair.

I have no idea how I missed that. I haven't seen it anywhere else, so ... if it happened during the holidays that may be why.

I'm hoping that his hair won't be that bad on him, as opposed to how it looks on DT?

JD said he has Donald Trump hair, according to Roz and Jen, and he didn't sound too excited about it. So, yeah, here's to hoping Spencer gets a makeover and becomes a hot political-in-training.

I wonder if eight eps is the whole season, because SatC ran for ten a season, I think. Summer Heights High (also on HBO) went for eight.

I'm guessing HBO doesn't want to go through the epic fail of seasons past, with buying a whole season then canceling halfway through and then having to trash the last eps.

That's an amazing news. I am not sure how HBO pick ups usually go -- do they pick up for 13 episodes or what? -- but in this day and age, I am not surprised they are not committing to anything until they see how it performs. The fact that they had given it a go-ahead at all, however, means they liked the pilot and the proposals enough to do so. Remember, they have a lot of things on the burner just waiting to be given a chance, so this is definitely a good news.

Now, let's cross our fingers and toes (again! lol) for the show to be actually good and for its finding the audience. :)

Ditto.

I don't know how HBO works at this point, as the last thing I watched through completely was Rome and the second season was only 10 episodes. Over on Showtime, I know that Dexter is 12 episodes, and Secret Diary of a Call Girl is 8 episodes ... but that's a UK import (with Billie!!)

I'm still being cautious and waiting for official HBO confirmation, but hell, Jason on my TV is never bad.
