TV Meme
Saw this on faith5by5_1013 and it looked cool.

So, a TV meme ...

Name a show you can't miss:
On hiatus, but I'd go with Doctor Who -- the preview of the new Christmas special = SQUEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Name an actor who would make you more inclined to watch a show:
Jason Dohring

Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
Kristen Bell. (In fact, I stopped watching Heroes -- fortunately before it apparently began to suck big-time -- because she joined the cast.)

Name a show you can and do quote from:
I'm not a big quoter from TV much, but the three lines I *do* regularly quote are all from Buffy, so I'll give it to Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.

Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
My first thought was Doctor Who or Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles, but being sci-fi (to a degree), they're not for everyone, so I'll go with the more general genre of How I Met Your Mother.

Name a TV series you own on DVD:
Farscape.

Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops in television:
Billie Piper is the only one I can think of who has impressive acting chops who was launched in a different medium, but I became a fan after the fact so I can't say I was "surprised," but I can think of no one else. Oh, wait, I think Shirley Manson is doing a pretty good job on Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles and I definitely knew her as a singer first. (I just feel like it's kinda cheating, because while she's good, I wouldn't use the word "impressive.")

What is your favorite episode of your favorite series?
"Paper Hearts" from The X-Files.

Name a show you keep meaning to watch but you just haven’t gotten around to yet:
Blackpool.

Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
Many shows with one episode in, a few shows just because they didn't maintain their previous level of quality.

Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Doctor Who -- it's actually the ONLY show that's made me cry multiple times.

What's your favorite/preferred genre of TV?
No preference; if it's good, I'm there.

What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Moonlighting.

What TV show do you wish you never watched?
Grey's Anatomy. In the end, it caused too much disappointment all-around without any rewarding memory that made it worthwhile.

What TV show scared you the most?
None.

What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
Knights of Prosperity. Unappreciated, underrated, hilarious, fabulous, wonderful show. Criminally killed before its time. Even the credits were HY-STER-I-CAL!!!

The background singers for the win: Flushing and scrubbing ... Robbing from the rich to give to themselves!

Do you prefer TV to films?
Both are good.

Name current TV relationships that you love.
My main ship has been banished to an alternate universe, so, erm, uhm, my minor ships would be ... Barney/Robin (How I Met Your Mother), Maggie/Eli (Eli Stone), Hood/Rachel (The Eleventh Hour), Sam/Windy ((Life on Mars), Daniel/Betty (Ugly Betty) Chuck/Blair (Gossip Girl).

*squees over Christmas special preview with you*

I don't care that Doctor Who is Sci-Fi. I still would recommend it to everyone. Of course, almost all of my RL friends love Buffy... Actually, my friend who recommended it to me did so by comparing it to BtVS after we had been talking about how amazing Joss's shows are.

I was surprised by Billie's acting. I didn't listen to her music, but I knew she used to be a pop star and I wasn't sure that she'd be a good actress. And she blew me away with her acting skills.

I knew nothing about Billie Piper before I watched DW; I'd never heard of her. So I knew her first and foremost as an actress; I didn't even know she was a former pop star until I got back into the show two years after I watched it the first time.

I don't care that DW is Sci-fi, but I know for a fact that some people who don't like sci-fi don't like it and are turned off of that by that. They've tried it, but couldn't get past their dislike of sci-fi. Their loss.

And, hee! to your icon.
