Do Not Cry
Erase me from life's pages
Forget my woe and sorrow
I gave up the dream of life
With regret for tomorrow
I have drunk the last of my wine
And yet still my throat is dry
Shed tears for those who want them
But for me ... do not cry

Please, please tell me it's just a poem you like and this is not some kind of a manifestation of depression?!

Seriously, dear, do you need to talk? You know I'm there if you need me!

No, no, first of all ... this is a HAPPY poem. It's a person at the end of their life who lived well and now they are ready to go.

I wrote it when I was 12 and was just thinking of it, so jotted it down.

I'm fine. I'm actually in good spirits today.

I'm sorry it never crossed my mind that anyone would worry. Sorry. :(

I am so sorry for freaking you out! LOL. It's just in view of your recent not-so-cheerful mood, and combined with the fact that this entry had no title, no tags and no explanation, I panicked. :)

I am so glad you are well and I really like the poem! 12? Seriously? You definitely should keep at it. :)

Oh, thank heavens! I guess I'm not good at poetry interpretation!

You wrote that when you were 12??? That's seriously impressive!

Don't feel bad, everyone thinks it's depressing at first. But tell me if you reread it with what I said it was about, does it sound that way?

Thank you. I love that poem. I've written over 400, but that's the only one I have memorized and sadly lost pretty much almost all the others in moves. Sigh. But I love that one.
