Head meet desk.
According to a poster on The LoVe Shack regarding the writer's, (actually) the editor (who said it) podcast for the last episode of VM.

"They were completely befuddled as to why anyone thought that Veronica was wrong to dump Logan's ass and joked about how they wanted to kick Logan in the balls."

I. have. no. words.

(Spoilery comments/speculation in the comments.)

Indeed.

Oh yeah cos everyone should want to kick Logan in the balls. They should worship and adore at the alter of a guy who slept with a girl he thought was his sister and left with her underwear lying at the side of the bed.

We should also worship at the alter of a self absorbed monkey emo boy who owns a guitar and is 'everything Logan isn't'.

Are they all smoking really strong pot in the writers room at VM HQ??
Arabian: TVarabian on February 10th, 2007 01:51 am (UTC)
Methinks it's stronger than mere pot. Mmhmm.

Wow. That says it all, really. No more hope. Hope all gone.

Dammit.
Arabian: Logan_Hiarabian on February 10th, 2007 12:25 am (UTC)
Well, I still have a bit of hope based on the write-up for 15 and the spoiler for 16, plus random comments we've gotten. It may not happen, but it makes sense in Rob-land, filled with his ironic gotchas, pain for the viewers, roller-coaster analogy and actually works with the way the entire Veronica/Piz relationship has played out this season, him into her, her not into him.

It's possible.

And, note, it was actually the editor who said it, not the writers. Still annoying though.
secrets_and_liesecrets_and_lie on February 10th, 2007 01:08 am (UTC)
Actually, if it was the editor, that makes a HUGE difference. TV editors don't really have a clue about authorial intent.

Not sure what to think re. the 15 writeup and its potential link to the 16 spoiler. I hate to say this, but I kind of suspect there isn't a link. After all, that's when the hiatus hits. And the last hiatus was 6 weeks VM time. Seems fairly likely to me that there's a time gap here too.
Arabian: 2 Heartsarabian on February 10th, 2007 01:48 am (UTC)
The two month gap very much plays into it. My new theory is that over the break L/P date, Veronica avoids it, but sees them kissing or something in 16 and decides to move on with Piz because, whateve, fine, he moved on, so will I. But we get Logan breaking up with Parker because he can't get over Veronica and it's not fair to her, just before Veronica moves on with Piz. Total ironic gotcha that Rob likes. And of course, since V is with Piz now she couldn't just drop him because Logan is free.

And Jason referenced both Logan and Piz as Veronica's estranged lovers, (hopefully the "lovers" was just a word used for couple *hopefully!*) and so maybe something happens with L/V or just Logan that makes Veronica realize she needs to take a break from Piz because she's really not over Logan (in 18).

And then in 19, it's pretty much ignored with just a few scenes between V and Piz and LoVe and then in 20 she "chooses" between them and it's Logan for the win.

Hey, I NEED the hope and until I'm proven otherwise (which should be fairly soon), I'm holding on tight baby.
secrets_and_liesecrets_and_lie on February 10th, 2007 01:58 am (UTC)
Well, part of that scenario may well end up being the case. I will say this: I do think that Logan and Veronica are likely to end up together by the end of 20. And though it probably won't be earned by V in any emotional/character arc/growth way, I'll go for it. Better than not, right?

Yuppers. And when that hope dies, I'll probably come up with something else. I. Always. Do.

Hmm...I just decided to listen to the podcast, and well, these boys are just DUMB!

You don't just have Veronica dump Logan for that--give her a damn chance to grow.

Yuppers.

Of course, I don't think Logan is completely blame free either, but Jesus!

Those boys need to get out in the real world for a bit.

whut. huh?

logan can be an ass, but veronica has her bitchy moments too. esp this season. and i'm saying this as someone who's always considered veronica her favorite character.

GUH.
Arabian: Rainbow_Loganarabian on February 10th, 2007 09:31 pm (UTC)
I know!! I wish the writers (and La Bell) would realize that we like when Veronica is a bitch with reason, we don't like when Veronica is a bitch, but the writers (and La Bell) play it as if she is totally in the right and acts all smug and self-entitled.

Seriously, what WAS that smirk on her face after she decided to not cube the car? Seriously!?!?!?

So much hate. This is why Supernatural and Heroes and other shows are the ones I look forward to and Veronica has become something I just endure.

Arabian: Deanarabian on February 10th, 2007 09:32 pm (UTC)
Well, replace UB and Brothers & Sisters and that's me. There are other shows I do look forward to, but the above two are what VM used to make me feel (in S1) ... giddy and happy. VM, not so much.

Seeing as it was just the editor it doesn't really make much difference what he thinks.

From what Diane was saying about the storyline in last week's podcast, she was describing it as one of those things that happens in a relationship, and they did it because they knew it was just the one thing Veronica wouldn't be able to get past easily. She never put any blame on Logan or said either of them were right or wrong, and well.. she's the one who had a part in writing it.

What I'm really waiting for is CB to put up the part of Rob's interview on TWoP where he talks about it. Although, I'm also kinda scared for it because I'm praying to the lord that he doesn't say something stupid lol.
Arabian: Meant to Bearabian on February 10th, 2007 10:16 pm (UTC)
It's what someone else pointed out -- it's the overall feel of it. Yeah, just the editor, but there was no defense, not even jokingly, from anyone else.

Yeah, I'm tentatively curious about that part of the interview as well.
hiddeneloisehiddeneloise on February 12th, 2007 04:56 pm (UTC)
Heh. I'm late to comment on this, but what the hell. Yeah, the comments were ass-hatish.
I know, I know, not a writer. An editor (and, btw, sometimes editing on the show blows!). :)

But still. Kicking Logan in the balls seems to be their favorite sport. Just as he gets up, they send another blow. Aaron didn't abuse him as much as the writers of this show. So, yeah, why should this be any different?

I am petrified these days. I dread the spoilers. I dread the outcome. I dread the podcasts. Sigh.
